1,2, Freddy kommt vorbei!

Writers Guild names 101 best screenplays
By John Horn
LOS ANGELES TIMES
Screenwriters should know a good movie script when they see one, and "Casablanca" has been crowned the best screenplay ever.
The members of the Writers Guild of America voted Julius J. Epstein, Philip G. Epstein and Howard Koch's "Casablanca" into the top spot of the guild's 101 greatest screenplays.
Francis Ford Coppola's collaborations with Mario Puzo on the first two "Godfather" scripts were both voted into the top 10 - although "Godfather III" somehow didn't make the cut.
Among living screenwriters, Woody Allen tied with Coppola (who also was honored for his work on "Patton" and "Apocalypse Now") for the most mentions, with four: "Hannah and Her Sisters" (No. 95), "Crimes and Misdemeanors" (No. 57), "Manhattan" (No. 54) and "Annie Hall" (No. 6).
Charlie Kaufman ("Adaptation," "Being John Malkovich" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind") and William Goldman ("Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," "All the President's Men" and "The Princess Bride") each earned three recognitions.
Neither the script for "Crash" nor "Brokeback Mountain," which won this year's WGA and Academy Award screenplay awards, landed on the list.

es geht doch
Zitat: |

pacino in oceans 13!
Zitat: |
Danny Ocean says hello to his new little friend! Pacino in OCEAN'S 13!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Just when you thought the cast couldn't get any bigger Steven Soderbergh adds in a heavy-hitter like Al Pacino in the next OCEAN'S flick. I caught a lot of shit in a previous OCEAN'S 13 article by saying I prefered OCEAN'S 12 to OCEAN'S 11. Don't get me wrong. I liked the heist better in the first flick, but the actors seemed to have found their groove by the time the second flick came about. The cast seemed to be having more fun the second time around and I guess that rubbed off on me as an audience member.
I'm hoping that Pacino is playing the bad guy in here. I could believe a group with the likes of Clooney, Pitt, Damon, Cheadle, etc could be royally fucked if someone like Pacino has them in his sights. All I know right now is his character's name is Willie Banks and he owns a big-time hotel and casino in Vegas. Badass addition no matter how they use him, I say. |

Zitat: |
DENVER, CO (PRWEB) April 14, 2006 -- Goodfella, Henry Hill (http://www.goodfellahenry.com) and his manager, Daryl Orr of Orr Productions (http://www.orrproductions.com), are seeking out writers, directors, producers and would like to solicit Warner Brothers to create a sequel to Goodfellas, the movie.
Goodfellas was released in 1990 and starred Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta who portrayed Henry Hill in a story about a half-Irish, half-Scicilian Brooklyn kid initiated into a local mafia gang and the problems and encounters with the mob throughout the next 25 years. The U.S. Box Office recorded $42,613,326.00 in sales from Goodfellas.
"I think its time to create a second film about the latter part of my 25 years after the mob," said Henry Hill. “People I speak to all over the world, email me and ask when there is a second Goodfellas, movie coming out."
Henry Hill has a book on the shelves titled "Gangsters and Goodfellas” written by Gus Russo. Russo writes about Henry's life during the mob, the witness protection and life on the run.
"I agree," said Daryl Orr, ”I feel this would be an opportunity for people who thrive on this kind of stuff to get a feel for life after Goodfellas." Daryl went on to say, "After you watch Goodfellas, your mind wonders what happens to Henry during his life after the movie."
There are also rumors of Henry and Daryl's involvement with Michael Mycon, Ken Haygood and Leon Hendrix in the making of a Jimi Hendrix film, which is in pre-production. Mike stated he would like to see Morgan Freeman portray Jimi Hendrix's father, Al Hendrix and Halle Berry as Jimi's mother, Lucille Hendrix. ”We have the rights of Original Hendrix LLC and the untold story from Leon Hendrix, Jimi's brother," said Michael Mycon.Original Hendrix LLC. is partner with Ken Haygood, Leon Hendrix's attorney, Michael Mycon and Leon Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix's brother. "We would like Quentin Tarantino to have interest in this movie," Mycon said. |

Zitat: |
